Finance

We are a small, friendly team responsible for all the finance functions of the council and help ensure the council remains financially secure so it can continue to provide the borough with all the services required.

We work closely as a team and with all service areas within the council in order to produce a balanced budget each year. We monitor and report the financial activity and performance to the wider council and public throughout the year which then leads to the production of the annual statutory accounts.

We are fortunate to get involved with a lot of exciting projects and diverse service areas meaning that there is a never a dull day working with us.

Property and asset management

Walk through Tewkesbury town, Bishops Cleeve or Winchcombe and you’ll see examples of the asset management team’s work everywhere - the council-owned car parks, street signs and bins to name a few. We are responsible for maintaining the council’s infrastructure and also managing all areas of the borough’s property portfolio.

We look after any land and estates under Tewkesbury Borough Council’s ownership or commercial contract. These include the council’s Public Services Centre, cemeteries and Tewkesbury Leisure Centre. We also play a key role in emergency response.

We work hard to ensure the borough looks its very best at all times and provide its communities with everything they require.

Why I love working in finance and asset management

I joined the council in November 2019 as a business administration apprentice and was extremely nervous to start. I knew a few people but the council seemed so big to me. Soon after starting, I realised there was nothing to be scared of. Everyone was really nice and welcoming - any questions I had weren't an issue and my colleagues were always happy to help.”

— Olivia Danter, Property Services Administrator in Property Services
