Housing Services is comprised of a frontline team and also has strategic functions.  The housing advice aspect has primary activities to provide Housing Advice, manage a social housing register and carry out the Local Authority statutory homeless duties.  Managing Homeseeker Plus (the social housing register) involves assessing the housing needs of applicants, and ensuring that social housing properties are let fairly in accordance with the Homeseeker Plus policy.

Within Housing Services we also have the strategic housing and enabling function which ensures new housing developments meet housing need within the borough, and that new developments include affordable housing, including a focus in rural areas.  Partnership working and assistance contracts and services supporting the work on homelessness and rough sleeping is also done through this function.
