Counter Fraud and Enforcement Unit

The Counter Fraud and Enforcement Unit (CFEU) is a collaborative partnership dedicated to mitigating fraud risk and reducing criminal activity and financial loss within its member Councils’ jurisdictions. The CFEU provides a comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective corporate, strategic, and investigative service for its partners, which include Cheltenham Borough, Cotswold District, Forest of Dean District, Stroud District, Tewkesbury Borough, and West Oxfordshire District Councils. Additionally, the CFEU offers housing and tenancy fraud prevention and detection services for various Social Housing Providers and has recently begun working with The Cheltenham Trust, a Registered Charity. The Unit’s holistic approach emphasises data sharing and efficiency across partners, ensuring tailored work plans that address the specific needs and priorities of each district or borough.
